Library

The library was established in 1982 by a group of local women who believed in the importance of a community library. The Library’s first location was in the brick house next to the old VFW hall on main street, which was purchased through a donation from P&G. The library moved to its present location in the old school owned by Mehoopany Township offering  more space and better parking and access for seniors.

The Mehoopany Area Library houses a nice collection of books, including Inspirational, Large Print and Local Interest titles. The library also offers movies (DVD and VHS) and audiobooks. Tweens and teens can check out the Junior Fiction and Young Adult sections. A wonderful children’s section offers an assortment of books and movies, as well as an inviting play space with puzzles and educational toys.
